Mixolydian Mode

Use the mixolydian mode over the dominant 7 chord, major triad, or power chord of the key you're in. This scale will also work over chords in the major key five frets higher. Use A mixolydian over an A7 chord, A major triad, A power chord, or chords in the key of D major. This scale is used fairly often in rock. Joe Satriani's "Summer Song" uses this scale almost exclusively. I recommend you check out alot of Satriani, he is the man! I think he would have to be one of the best players out there, and if you haven't guessed already, my favourite guitar player.
