Aeolian Mode

You can use the aeolian mode over the minor 7 chord, minor triad, or power chord of your key of choice. This scale will also work over chords in the major key three frets higher. Use A aeolian over an A minor 7 chord, A minor triad, A power chord, or chords in the key of C major. This scale is also known as the relative minor scale, natural minor scale, pure minor scale. This mode is one of the most popular in rock and metal, you can hear this one all over the place lol. It has sort of a classical feel to it, which is why it is used in Neo Classical metal quite often.
